Cteam Energietechnik celebrates three years of expertise and motivation in Austria
In the summer of 2019, Gerald Bernsteiner in Upper Austria had the idea to take the leap into self-employment. This was because his know-how from the experience he had gained over the years and the feedback from numerous satisfied customers were the ideal basis for realizing his ambition with an owner-managed company and more creative freedom.
A lot has happened since Cteam Energietechnik GmbH was founded three years ago, because the demand for the planning, supply and installation of electrotechnical systems for power plants and substations is unbroken, also due to the energy turnaround, and the grid expansion is growing day by day. In addition, the specialist serves industrial companies such as steel mills or pulp and paper mills that have a high consumption of electrical energy or even their own power generation.

“In the first months of our existence, we were able to win several orders from renowned customers such as the transmission system operator Austrian Power Grid, Energienetze Steiermark and Verbund Hydro Power,” says founder and CEO Gerald Bernsteiner. “Among them were the rebuild of a 220 kV switchgear on the outskirts of Salzburg and the renewal of generator rejections at the Malta Oberstufe power plants at Kölnbreinsperre and Kaprun Oberstufe. We also renewed a 30/5 kV small substation of Energienetze Steiermark, which supplies power to the Göss Leoben brewery – that’s also a type of critical infrastructure,” notes Gerald Bernsteiner with a smile. More than 100 projects have been successfully implemented since the company was founded.

Cteam Energietechnik has already achieved a positive result in its first full fiscal year 2020 and was thus already above the build-up costs of 2019. The result in 2021 and the outlook for 2022 are also very pleasing. “I am particularly proud of the competence and motivation of our approximately 50 employees at each of our four locations. After all, this has already enabled us to achieve market and quality leadership in a number of areas in the short time we have been in existence. This gives our customers the certainty that even complex and extensive projects will be implemented in high quality and on schedule,” says Gerald Bernsteiner. “The Cteam brand, which is well-known among our customers, especially through Cteam Leitungsbau Austria, and the financial strength of the Cteam Group are a great basis for the development of our young company,” he continues. The management team, which has now grown to three people with the addition of two very experienced managers, Kurt Rader and Andreas Steiner, ensures that the young company remains on course despite its rapid growth.

Half of the company’s sales are now generated by projects in hydropower plants, which are the most important sources of renewable energy in Austria. The remainder is made up of switchgear and transformer stations, which are required to bring the electricity into and out of the lines to the consumers or serve as nodes in the power grid. These services form the core competence with which Cteam Energietechnik makes an important contribution to the success of the energy turnaround. The experts are well prepared for the future. With promotion and qualification measures for the existing team as well as aggressive measures to attract new employees, Cteam wants to further expand and consolidate its position in the rapidly growing energy market.

We congratulate Gerald, Kurt and Andreas and their team on their 3rd birthday and wish them many more successful years!
